Yama/abstentions: nonviolence, truth in word and thought, non-covetousness, abstinence – especially from sexual activity.
Niyama/observances: cleanliness of body and mind, being satisfied with what one has, austerity especially regarding the body, study of scriptures and worship of God.
These of the first two limbs of a Patanjali’s yoga teachings. What I love about these teachings is there straightforwardness and simplicity. Some might think that they are too simple, but for me, my wisdom inspired journey benefits from discipline and focus.
